While playing the Neverwinter Nights 2 campaign, I had the urge to build the Matrix Loading Module for it. I thought it was going to be a ten minute job, because I was already familiar with the Neverwinter Nights Toolset. But it turned out that the NWN2 Toolset was quite different than the NWN Toolset.
First, it crashes on Vista. But I soon resolved that problem. The next problem is that the user interface is completely different than the original Toolset. A bit of reading from the "Help" menu, I was able to create the Matrix Loading Module.
However, when I loaded up the module in the game with my prized character, NWN2 crashed as soon as I tried to move my character. Using a pre-made character avoided the crash. But the character wouldn't move. Reading a bit more made me realized that NWN2 Toolset uses the "baked" concept. After "baking" my module, it worked fine.
I feel that the new Toolset is far less intuitive than the original Toolset. I don't know if it is because I'm more familiar with the original Toolset, but unfamiliar with the new Toolset.
